My husband and I had an amazing Labor Day weekend at War Eagle! We brought our camper and were amazed by the wonderful locations to park it. The river was in our back yard! It was so peaceful to wake up in the morning and have coffee at the picnic table and look at the river. We enjoyed it so much that we kept extending our trip. We ended up staying 4 days longer because we didn't want to leave. Pam (the owner) and her staff were so nice and accommodating which made us feel like family. We will be back soon!!
I camped in the camping area and I absolutely loved everything they had to offer. We were able to put our campsite right by the water, and had river access a few steps away. The bath house was well stocked and very clean and kept up, which was a very pleasant surprise. I 100% would stay an entire summer if I was able to. Definitely check them out!
5 Stars!!! We had an absolutely amazing experience floating on the Illinois River! The staff was super friendly, organized, and made the whole process seamless from start to finish. The equipment was in great shape, the float route was beautiful and peaceful, and the scenery along the river was stunning. Perfect mix of relaxation and fun. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned floater, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!
We come to War Eagle Resort every year for our family's annual kayaking trip, and it never disappoints. The accommodations are perfect for our family, offering clean and comfortable lodging that serves as a great home base for our adventures. The staff is always friendly, and the whole experience—from the beautiful kayaking on the Illinois River to the relaxing atmosphere of the resort—makes it a tradition we'll continue for years to come.
We wanted to give a shout out to the war eagle crew they were so friendly and helpful our entire stay! We stayed in the bunk houses, and when we arrived our fridge was not working. Missy, Jess, Collin, Sam, and Mia got right on the job and brought a BRAND NEW fridge promptly. Additionally when we left for the river the following morning a guy from the crew saw we were struggling with our cooler and he gave us a ride to check in and carried the cooler for us! Staff is so wonderful and made for yet another successful river trip.
This was my first trip to war eagle and it definitely won’t be my last! We stayed in one of the motel rooms, and it was super clean and comfy! We had a group of 32 spread between the motel and the bunkhouses. The staff was so organized and helpful, the store had all the essentials you may have forgotten, and the on site food truck had some great food! I can’t wait to go back next summer, or maybe even before they close floating for this year!
This is by far the best RV camp spot on the river. It’s the only RV spot you can get on the river! Pricing is reasonable, they have cabins and a motel many options or you can bring your RV. We have our family reunion here every year and I absolutely love it. The staff is fantastic as well!
Had great time. Not floated in Oklahoma in 15+ years. Normally go out if state to float. Staff was great, river was up. Had very nice time.
